Decomposition of energy consumption is quite useful tool for the investigation of relative contribution of different factors and the variation of past consumption pattern to the change of energy consumption. Especially, in the case of DPRK(Democratic People's Republic of Korea) of which energy consumption have been decreased by economic depression, decomposition of energy consumption can provide several information on the factors contributed to the decrease of energy consumption. This study is to investigate the most relevant method for the decomposition of fuel energy consumption in DPRK, and analyze the relative contribution of each factors affected to the fuel energy consumption in DPRK. This study assume change of production, change of energy intensity and fuel substitution as behavioral factors affect to the fuel consumption of DPRK, and analyze the effects of these factors to the fuel consumption of DPRK by using the method of decomposition.
