Information
This study examines the hypothesis of asymmetric response to CIF rises and falls in the gasoline market in Korea, using quarterly data from 1991 to 2000. The unrestricted error correction model is applied to test the hypothesis. The hypothesis of asymmetric response to CIF rises and falls is rejected by the data. However, a similar hypothesis in regard to the exchange rate is not rejected by the data.
